About the practice

A small practice for a small town, with a big idea about healing.

Reflection Healthcare is an Internal and Family Medicine practice in Newport, Tennessee. We care for adult men and women of East Tennessee with comprehensive, evidence-based medicine — delivered at the pace of a real conversation, in a calm setting, by providers who will remember your story.

Dr. Candi Overholt
A letter from our founder

Medicine that serves the whole person.

I was drawn to Internal Medicine because it lets me do three things I love — prevention, diagnosing, and walking with patients through treatment. Primary care, in particular, gives me the continuity to really know the people I serve.

My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 — "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." That verse is the quiet center of how I try to practice: with hope, with care, and with honest work.

My husband and I have been married twenty years, and we're raising five children here in East Tennessee. This is our home. You are our neighbors. We are grateful to serve you.

Our mission

Mind. Body. Soul.

We practice comprehensive, up-to-date primary care — integrating clinical experience with current medical evidence — and we do it with the patience and compassion that Christ modeled. Your faith, your doubts, and your story are welcome here. They are part of the healing, not a distraction from it.

Where we are

The foothills of the Smokies.

We practice in Newport, Tennessee, in a small town where neighbors still know each other's names. Our waiting room is quiet, and our visits run long on purpose. Front-porch hospitality — in an exam room.

A note for returning patients.

Reflection Healthcare is the new name for Preferred Internal Medicine of Newport. Our providers, our location at 150 East Broadway Street, and our phone number have not changed. We open under the new name on June 1, 2026.
